Managed by the Coral Leisure group on behalf of Kerry County Council, the Killarney Sports & Leisure Centre is a flagship public facility designed to be a “one-stop-shop” for fitness and community recreation in the Southwest.
Mission & Vision
The centre operates with a health-driven approach, aiming to be a national leader in the leisure industry. Their core mission is to provide expert-led fitness and education in a professional environment that remains accessible to all segments of the community, from high-performance athletes to families.
Key Facilities
The Pool Hall: Features three distinct zones—a 25m five-lane competitive pool, a dedicated learner pool for building confidence, and a shallow toddler splash pool. It is fully equipped with a hoist for mobility-impaired swimmers.
The Gymnasium: A modern 325m² space that recently underwent a significant upgrade (2024/2025) to include Precor equipment. It caters to both heavy strength training and general cardio.
International Sports Hall: A massive 33m x 31m hall with a full-sized basketball court and retractable seating for nearly 500 spectators. It is often used for major regional events, including wrestling shows and national-level sports tournaments.
Health Suite: Located on the lower ground floor, offering a sanctuary with a Jacuzzi/Whirlpool, a recently refurbished steam room, and a traditional sauna.
Community & Inclusivity
The centre is widely recognized for its “Outstanding” award status from Ireland Active, which it has held for several consecutive years. It is one of the few facilities in the region that maintains a strong Pay-As-You-Go model, ensuring that visitors and locals aren’t forced into long-term contracts to stay active.
